About the Practice

Janice George is a psychotherapist in private practice. She graduated from Ohio State University and has a Master's Degree in Social Work (1981) and a Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration (1984).

She is a certified Enneagram facilitator and teacher and has completed training in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), Thought Field Therapy, Family Therapy, and Energy Medicine. She has extensive training in trauma recovery and healing, mood disorders, recovery from addictions and eating disorders. She is also certified as a yoga teacher, a professional yoga therapist, Laughter Yoga teacher and iRest yoga nidra facilitator. Her unique skill set allows her to meet the person where they are with acceptance and understanding and assist them in unwinding the blocks that keep them from realizing their fullest potential so they can step forward in their life with confidence and power.

Her belief is that through this process of discovery, awareness and empowerment that the incident of all forms of violence will decrease. That is her commitment and passion.

She is the founder and program director of Samyoga Institute, a yoga teacher and yoga therapy training certified by the Yoga Alliance. She is one the founders of the Center for Wholeness, a non-profit organization committed to the holistic and healing arts, education and sciences. She has worked with the YWCA providing yoga and wellness workshops to the homeless and mentally ill women in residence there.

Janice works with individuals, partners, families, adults and adolescents.
